A Lot of Women Feel This Way
Maybe you've thought about learning self-defense for a while but weren't sure where to start. Maybe the idea of walking into a gym full of strangers — especially a martial arts gym — feels intimidating on its own. Maybe you just want to know, deep down, that you could protect yourself if you ever needed to.
Whatever brought you here, you don't have to have it figured out before you walk in. This class exists specifically for women who are starting from zero, in a room with no men, no cost, and no pressure to be anything other than exactly where you are right now.
Why Jiu-Jitsu for Self-Defense?
Most physical altercations end up on the ground. Knowing how to defend yourself from your back — how to escape, control, and get back to your feet — is the most practical self-defense skill a woman can have.
Striking-based self-defense assumes you can overpower someone larger and stronger. Jiu-jitsu doesn't. It uses leverage, technique, and body mechanics to give you real options when it matters most — regardless of your size, strength, or fitness level.
At 10th Planet Denver, our women's class focuses specifically on the scenarios most relevant to women: what to do if grabbed, taken to the ground, or pinned. You'll leave every class with tools you can actually use.
