Who Is This For?

Short answer: if you're reading this, probably you. Here's how people usually land here.

Beginners
No experience needed. No need to get in shape first. Our Fundamentals classes are built specifically for people starting from zero. You will be coached, not thrown to the wolves.
Self-Defense
Jiu-jitsu gives you practical tools for real situations — what to do when someone grabs you, takes you down, or gets on top of you. It's not about acting tough. It's about being capable.
Fitness
You will get in the best shape of your life while learning a real skill. Strength, conditioning, flexibility, and mental toughness all improve simultaneously. No treadmill required.
Competitors
We have an active competition team that competes monthly. IBJJF, NAGA, submission only — our team shows up and wins. If you want to compete, you're in the right place.

What Is 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu?

You don't need to already understand belts, lineages, or gis to start. Here's the short version: 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu is a no-gi submission grappling system developed by Eddie Bravo, built specifically so it transfers to real self-defense and modern MMA — not just competition mats.

Because there's no gi, there's no collar or sleeve to grab. Everything you learn — rubber guard, leg locks, back attacks, escapes — works the same whether you're rolling in class or dealing with something in real life.

10th Planet Denver is led by Coach Conor Heun — a 3rd Degree Eddie Bravo Black Belt, retired professional MMA fighter, and one of Eddie's original black belts. When you train here, you're learning the system directly from the source, not a watered-down version of it.

Your Training Path

Wherever you're starting from, there's a class built for it. Most students begin with Fundamentals and layer in the rest as they progress.

Beginner
Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals
The perfect starting point. Hour-long classes covering the core positions and techniques of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu with a full warmup and limited live drilling. No experience needed. You will learn how to stay safe, escape bad positions, and move with confidence from day one.
All Levels
All Levels Jiu-Jitsu
Deeper technique, live positional sparring, and real-time feedback. Classes start with focused drilling on a specific technique then move into live rounds where you apply it against a resisting partner. This is where real progress happens.
All Levels
Ecological Dynamics
A cutting-edge approach to motor learning and skill acquisition. Every situation is live and task-focused. The constraints-led method guides skill development based on the interaction between the student, the task, and the environment — producing faster, more durable learning than traditional drilling alone.
Advanced
Leg Locks
A dedicated class covering the six fundamental leg locking positions — Ashi, Outside Ashi, Inside Ashi, Cross Ashi, 50/50, and the Honey Hole. Covers both entries and finishing mechanics with a heavy emphasis on safety. Runs concurrently with Fundamentals to give advanced students a specialized training block.
Advanced
Rubber Guard
The signature position of the 10th Planet system. This dedicated class breaks down the rubber guard — its entries, transitions, sweeps, and submissions — in detail. A must for anyone serious about mastering the 10th Planet game.
All Levels
10P Warmups
The warmups are the skeleton of the entire 10th Planet system — lettered A through H and synced with headquarters in Los Angeles. Mastering the warmups gives you the foundation to build your own complete game. Suitable for all levels.
Competitive
Comp Team
10th Planet Denver competes approximately once a month. The comp class is built for the competitive grappler — hard rounds from a variety of positions, structured around the ruleset of the upcoming tournament. You don't have to compete to attend, but you do have to be willing to work.
All Levels
Wrestling
Every jiu-jitsu match starts standing. Our wrestling classes focus on pummeling, hand fighting, Russian tie-ups, and takedowns that work in both self-defense and sport grappling. Live wrestling at the end of every class.
All Levels
Nogi Judo
Judo is the throwing art that jiu-jitsu was built on. This class teaches sweeps and throws for no-gi grappling using crash pads to keep everyone safe. Beginner-friendly and a genuine differentiator — very few gyms in Colorado offer this.

None at all. We welcome complete beginners every day. Our Fundamentals classes are specifically designed for people starting from zero — no experience, no fitness level, no prior martial arts required. Just show up.
What is no-gi jiu-jitsu?
No-gi means we train without the traditional BJJ uniform (the gi). Instead we wear rash guards and shorts. Everything translates directly to real-world self-defense and MMA — there's no collar, no sleeve, no lapel to grab. It's pure grappling.
How is 10th Planet different from other BJJ gyms?
10th Planet is a specific system developed by Eddie Bravo with an emphasis on rubber guard, leg locks, and a complete no-gi game. Coach Conor Heun is a 3rd Degree Eddie Bravo Black Belt — one of Eddie's original black belts — so you're learning the system from direct lineage, not a watered-down version.
